01/08/2010 "HOLIDAY ANGELS" SHOWER GIFTS ON BETHESDA CHILDREN'S CENTER

Holiday Angels, Barbara Carbone, Barbara Palone and Janet Verdiglione in the main lobby at Bethesda Memorial Hospital.

(Boynton Beach, FL) “It is better to give than it is to receive,” is a motto that is shared by those who willingly give to help others.

The “Holiday Angels,” a local volunteer group, donated new, unwrapped toys to the Bethesda Children’s Center for the holidays. The group purchases and gathers toys throughout the year for their annual donation.

Every year, the Holiday Angels set up a Christmas tree in Bethesda’s main lobby for the purpose of allowing others to donate toys to the Children’s Center as well. Their generous contribution allows the children and those less fortunate to receive a gift for the holidays. In 2008, the Holiday Angels extended their generosity by making shopping bags containing layettes for newborns in Bethesda’s Nursery.

Established in 2004, the Holiday Angels are a group of local volunteers who donate toys for patients in the Bethesda Children’s Center during the holiday season. Led by Barbara Carbone, the Holiday Angels are Barbara Palone, Carmen Seh, Diane Buytkins, Phyllis Cohen, Janet Verdiglione, and Kristin Mendelsohn.
